La Toya Darden (President & Chief Executive Officer)

La Toya Darden has worked in community healthcare for the last 10 years. As Program Director of Houston Medi-Dent Mobile Health, Inc., she demonstrated abilities in internal and external marketing, finances, management and dental software technology; wrote successful grants for a children’s dental program; analyzed and wrote appropriate responses to requests for proposals (RFP), requests for quotes (RFQ) and requests for information (RFI); set up and established new territory by devising a technique for introducing the concept of oral preventative services for underserved school-aged children; and designed an introductory “Partnering with the Community”, “Miles of Healthy Smiles” program that is now standard for the agency. Ms. Darden also served as programs administer and grant writer for the program, where she developed a complete managerial outline for continued growth and success of the agency; established professional relationships and maintained communication with individual school personnel in targeted school districts; promoted and facilitated dental prevention education programs in identified schools utilizing various marketing and promotional strategies; and maintained and sustained strong relationships between donors and the non-profit agency, who, in return, provided dental services to thousands of undeserved school children. 

Under her direction as Chief Operations Officer for Central Care Integrated Health Services (CCIHS), Ms. Darden implemented an HIV primary care and collegiate inoculation medical program for underserved patients residing in South Central Houston and throughout Houston, Texas. She successfully orchestrated funding through the Houston Endowment for renovations to CCIHS' main site and secured contracts from HISD for the Convenience Clinic Benefits Plan to provide primary and preventative healthcare to HISD employees. 


In 2011, Ms. Darden was a member of the UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program. The UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program is a management development program exclusively for executive directors and leaders of health centers and other community-based healthcare organizations. The program provides extensive management and leadership development at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles, California. Participants engage in a rigorous but relevant curriculum that provides the requisite skills, knowledge and abilities to successfully manage and lead their organizations in a changed world for healthcare delivery. The program has graduated nearly 600 participants since its inception in 2002. 

Ms. Darden received her B.A in Psychology from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Kymberly Butler, M.D. (Chief Medical Officer)

Dr. Kymberly Butler, M.D. (Chief Medical Officer)

Dr. Kymberly Butler was born and reared in San Angelo, Texas.  She attended Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Biology.  Upon graduation, she entered Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA.  Dr. Butler graduated from Hahnemann in 1997.  She completed her residency training at the University of Texas- Houston, in Family Practice in 2001 where she had the distinct honor to serve as Chief Resident.  Dr. Butler returned to the University of Texas – Houston as Assistant Professor for from 2002-2007 after a year of working in a large multi-specialty group. While at University of Texas – Houston.  She educated and help develop clinical skills of medical students and Family Medicine Resident.   Dr. Butler has a special interest in Women’s Health with concentration on women’s health procedures including: IUD and Nexplanon placement/removal, Colposcopy, EMB, ECC, and evaluation of abnormal lesions.  Dr. Butler in February 2007, along with 2 other Physicians formed their own Family Medicine Clinic, Total Health Family Medical Group, in Pearland, Texas.  After 7 years of private practice Dr. Butler sough to expand her role in medicine.  She joined Accretive Health.  She had extensive training in quality and accuracy to recommend patient status through evidence-based medicine to improve compliance and revenue integrity. Earned nomination to serve as site lead across multiple hospitals and healthcare organizations, preparing and presenting educational information on the company, CMS rulings, compliance, and appeals.  Acted as the Physician Advisor representative for the sales team with new and prospective clients.  Extensive training on billing and coding. 

Throughout all of Dr. Butler’s education and training she believes her calling is to provide quality healthcare to the community with compassion, tenacity and education. She practices under the mantra that Health Care is a right and not a privilege.   She is aware that the lack of access to affordable and quality of healthcare not only affects the individual but has a devastating effect on the community.  Her mission mind, drive, and compassion for people and the community led her to Central Care Integrated Health Care. Dr. Butler believes in the vision of Central Care Integrated Health Service and together they will be a formidable force in the world of medicine having a profound impact on the community and its people.  She has taken the helm of leadership and accepted the charge to lead the clinical department.  She continues her love for educating providers, students and interns in clinical medicine.  Dr. Butler is determined, committed and only gives her best.  Her drive is to continue the legacy of Central Care Integrated Health Services and ensure that mission of providing affordable, accessible and quality care by eliminating health disparities in the communities endures.

She is married to Coye Devrouax and the mother of Zachary.  Dr. Butler is a member of American Academy of Family Medicine, Texas Medical Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  She is an avid public speaker on healthcare including adolescence, women health, and preventive care.

Dr. Shannon Morris, DNP, FNP-C (Director of Clinical Services)

Dr. Shannon Morris, DNP, FNP-C (Director of Clinical Services)

Dr. Shannon Morris, DNP, FNP-C, is the Director of Clinical Services for Central Care Integrated Health Services. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Morris began her nursing education at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and began working as a registered nurse at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMTU). She worked as a staff nurse, researcher, and nurse preceptor. She was awarded the certificate of “Excellence in the Preceptor Role". In addition, Dr. Morris also served on the UNC Shared Governance Board Diversity Council, as well as being the appointed BMTU Diabetes Resource Nurse. 

Dr. Morris returned to WSSU to pursue a Masters in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) concentration, then ultimately decided to enroll at the University of South Alabama to earn her Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a concentration in Diabetes and Metabolic Syndromes.  

Dr. Morris has contributed to numerous research projects and presented at both the local and state level. Projects include revising the "UNC Mucositis Management Policy" with updated evidence-based research and “The Equal Project". Professionals presentations include "Bone Marrow Core: The Transplant Process and Hematological Effects", "Central Venous Access Devices in Cancer Patients", as well as article publications in the Clinical Advisor entitled "Reducing Ethnic Disparities in Cancer Care” and "Goal-Setting: Improving Glycemic Control in Type 2 Diabetes. 

Dr. Morris' research interests include care of cancer survivors. She also has a strong drive and personal motivation in searching for a cure for cancer. When Dr. Morris is not working, she is volunteering with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. She has served as a Cooperate Sponsor Recruiter as well as a participant in the “Light the Night Walk”. Her pastime includes traveling abroad, reading non-fiction novels, or spending time with her family and friends.

Tasneem Lokhandwala, CPA (Chief Financial Officer)

Tasneem Lokhandwala, CPA (Chief Financial Officer)

Tasneem Lokhandwala holds a CPA (Texas) license. As a member of the executive leadership team, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the financial strategies, operating and capital budgets, and system of financial management that support the overall vision, mission, goals and objectives of Central Care. Ms. Lokhandwala is actively involved in planning and executing strategic partnerships and she oversees financial planning and funding strategies in support of Central Care's capital projects.  
Ms. Lokhandwala's expertise are in strategic planning and execution, revenue cycle and budget operation, business planning, capital planning, federal finance regulation and requirements, financial analysis and state and federal audits.   Ms. Lokhandwala is passionate about the role that Central Care plays to support patients and their families.
When not at work, Ms. Lokhandwala enjoys spending time reading and traveling.

Demetria Robinson, LMSW (Deputy Director)

Demetria Robinson, LMSW (Deputy Director)

Demetria Robinson is a Licensed Master Social Worker and brings a variety of experience to the Central Care team.  Born and raised in Southern California, Ms. Robinson traveled across the country to complete her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana.  After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Ms. Robinson pursued her passion of working with underprivileged youth by returning to work in the school district where she, herself, was educated.  Ms. Robinson served as a bilingual elementary school teacher as a member of the Teach For America Americorps program.  She also worked concurrently as a behavioral health counselor at a residential treatment facility for severely emotionally disturbed youth.  She then went on to complete her Master’s degree in Social Work at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  While pursuing her master’s degree, Ms. Robinson worked as a case manager for teen mothers and pregnant teens.

After completing her MSW degree, Ms. Robinson relocated to Houston, Texas and received her license as a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas.  She became a school social worker with the Houston Independent School District, serving students and families in the Sharpstown and Gulfton communities.  Ms. Robinson wanted to build on her psychology background so she also worked part-time in behavioral health hospitals and partial hospitalization programs throughout Houston, completing psychosocial assessments and conducting individual and group therapy.


Ms. Robinson then went on to become an administrator at Harris County Department of Education.  She served as a leader of the Head Start program for 11 years, overseeing social services, program operations, and ending her tenure as the Assistant Director.  To remain active in the field of social work, Ms. Robinson also worked concurrently as a social worker at Memorial Hermann Hospital for several years before transitioning to Texas Children’s Hospital.

Ms. Robinson has also done significant work abroad as a teacher and counselor in Mexico, Spain and the Dominican Republic.  Ms. Robinson’s passions are education, social work and community healthcare.  She brings great passion, energy and a commitment to serving patients and families at Central Care Integrated Health Services.
